Whether you want to troubleshoot a common behavior such as jumping or pulling on lead, or train a happy sit-stay and other nice manners, we can work with you in your home or office, or in your neighborhood or nearby park. We can schedule one session at a time, or you may decide you’d like a discounted multi-session package.
In a Tellington TTouch session we will use a combination of circular touches, slides, and lifts, as well as movement and body wraps, to effect positive changes in your dog’s stress levels, physical and emotional balance, and ability to learn. When working with a human-animal team, TTouch enhances communication, focus, and connection, and provides gentle respectful tools for addressing a range of behavioral concerns.
Before our first appointment you will fill out a history form which will help us plan, and gather resources for, our first session. During the session we will work with your dog to address concerns and determine areas that need attention, and you will learn basic techniques to continue the work.
A single session gives us the chance to explore your concerns and develop an initial TTouch and Training plan. Multiple sessions provide the opportunity to adjust the plan as necessary, and further develop your own TTouch and Training skills.
For serious behavioral concerns an initial consultation session provides an opportunity to examine your dog’s problem behavior from a fresh perspective, evaluate contributing factors, prevent practice of the undesirable behavior, and help your dog learn to choose better alternatives.
Before our first appointment you will fill out a Canine Behavioral History which will help us plan, and gather resources for, our first session. During the session we will develop an initial training plan, and you will learn and practice the initial training skills needed. During the session we’ll create a detailed report. We’ll follow up by phone or email in a week to ten days to see how things are going, and to adjust the training program as needed. We also have a Joyful Dog LLC Liability Release and Disclaimer that will need to be signed at or before our first meeting.
Some issues require only one session for you to learn the necessary skills to implement the training plan. Others may require additional sessions to adjust the training approach, or further hone your skills.
